Conference on City Futures, Sheffield
Expert speakers including leading policy makers, critics, practitioners and academics will present and debate alternative perspectives on placemaking for Sheffield and the future city on 22 September 2011.
Speakers include:
Professor Kevin Murray, chairman of the Academy of Urbanism
Dave Caulfield, head of planning at Sheffield City Council
Sarah Gaventa, former director of CABE Space
Karl Tupling, head of strategy, programme and performance at the Homes and Communities Agency North East, Yorkshire and The Humber
Tom Wild, director of the South Yorkshire Forest Partnership
Terena Plowright, director of The Greening Campaign
Owen Hatherley, author and critical commentator on architecture
The conference lunch will be served in the Lyceum Theatre in conjunction with viewing the exhibition of the winning entries of the RIBA Forgotten Spaces Competition at the Crucible Theatre.
