Description

The Hall (Listed Grade I), evolved from a 15th century medieval hall, and was transformed by Lord Burlington (1720s-1730s), with additions by William Kent (1730s) and John Carr (1760s-1770s). The garden setting with former canal, terraces and chalk-cut walk are enhanced by a rustic bridge, dairy, pigeon-cote, walled garden and banqueting house. Set within the Great Wold Valley there are extensive views to parkland plantations, Carnaby Temple and Woldgate.
