Humphry Repton died in 1818 and this year we will remember his career as a landscape gardener and author of texts on the subject. The YGT have a number of exciting events planned so watch out for updates over the next few months. A new publication has been published looking at Repton’s work in our county and reproduce the text and innovative 'before and after’ drawings that became Repton’s hallmarks in his Red Books. With financial support from the YGT, and authored by YGT members Dr Patrick Eyres and Karen Lynch, the book was launched in May.
Nationally there will be an exhibition at the Museum of Garden History in London and a programme of conferences and lectures. More details can be found on the Gardens Trust website - http://thegardenstrust.org/campaigns/celebrating-humphry-repton-2018/.
