Duncombe Park

Duncombe Park’s pleasure grounds date from c. 1718-30 and are ‘a landmark in the development of the English natural style’ (Jellicoe et al 1986). There are links with Charles Bridgeman and Sir John Vanburgh. Duncombe Park is on the HE Register at Grade I and it is also a National Nature Reserve (ancient and veteran trees).

New Research and Recording report on Birdsall House

Set in the Yorkshire Wolds, Birdsall House has been the home of the Willoughby family who have used the natural landscape to create a suitable setting for it over a 200 year period.

New Research and Recording report on Skelton Hall

Whilst only a modest designed landscape covering 100 acres at its greatest extent, the grounds around Skelton Hall still provide an appropriate setting for the Grade II listed hall that was built c. 1806-8.
