Stonefall Cemetery

Description

Image reproduced with the kind permission of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission

A unique opportunity for a guided visit to this poignant commemorative designed landscape. A Stonefall Cemetery guide will take us on a tour of the cemetery covering the history of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, who is commemorated and some casualty stories. The visit includes First World War graves and the Services Plot before ending in the large Air Force plot. This is where over 900 air force casualties from the Second World War are buried and where there is lots of horticultural interest. Following the tour we will have the opportunity to continue to walk around the site with the guide on hand to answer any questions. We also hope that one of the gardeners will also be available.

The tour takes approximately 75 minutes.

The ground is level and it will be a mix of walking and standing on paths / grass.

Ticket cost: £8.00 YGT members and non-members
